At 64 years old I had never married and had given up hope of meeting someone and finding happiness. I had lived with this rejection for many years.
Although I knew I was never truly alone spiritually and that God would never abandon me; as I lived alone, I felt lonely outside of fellowship.
In a period of depression I confided in my Pastor, who said he would pray for my situation. Around 3 months later, I met another single Christian man, who told me about the 101 dating site.
I joined 101 Christian singles and left my profile page there with no hope, but in obedience, on the off chance that God might use this. (His ways are not our ways).
As a Christian, I knew that the person I met would need to be a Christian too. I knew that I couldn’t expect God to bless a marriage that that was not from him. With 101, I knew that other members were genuine in their search for partners too and this encouraged me.
The site was very well thought out and easy to navigate; with people from all ages, backgrounds and countries. Receiving my first message gave me more encouragement and made it easy to reply. I knew I could share my faith freely and that I would be understood.
Fast forward and I eventually met a Filipino lady, we became friends and I visited her several times, before we eventually married in the Philippines in December of 2018. We then applied for a spouse visa, and we are now together living in the U.K.
So never give up on finding either friendship or marriage. Nothing is impossible for God.
