I will say right now if you are about to embark on a relationship with a person that does not share your faith – STOP! There is a super-high chance it will not work and the reason for this; namely you are not only not singing from the same hymn sheet – but the playing filed so to speak is not even – his or her rules and thresholds for what is right, and what your goals and aspirations should be will not match his – and if you are the Christian in the relationship I can guarantee – when it comes to compromising you will always find yourself going with gravity – i.e. DOWN! You are almost better both non-believers than to suffer the loneliness and aguish of one in and one out of the faith.
Being single can be painful
When it comes to being single in the church we’ve all felt the pangs of pain at seeing others pair up so easily when it can seem like a nightmare for us – but don’t despair 🙂 Did you know, God really does fully understand the feeling of loneliness. Remember his last words.. “why has thou forsaken me” – a very telling reminder of Gods love for us that he allowed his own son to experience the pain of complete separation from love.
I myself have experienced these feelings many a time and it was precisely this that gave me the energy to build this singles service. At times I’ve felt like leaving the church as the secular world has it so easy when it comes to meeting new friends – but I wasn’t prepared to see myself and others fall away over something that could be easily be helped.
