I know, from running a free Christian dating site for nearly 20 years, that there are many sites – or types of sites you should avoid in order to a) not get scammed by fake/bogus profiles or members of those dating sites (who are often based abroad but posing as members living near you, or live abroad but declare their undying love for the victim and need ‘assistance’ paying for their ‘ticket’) and b) because the site in question may be more interested in your wallet than your well-being. Here are a few pointers and things to think about when using dating sites in general.

  • Don’t use dating sites – especially so-called ‘Christian’ dating sites that are NOT actually owned by Christians (that’s 95% of them). You may have to do a bit of digging to find this information out (check out the chart below once I’ve added it).
  • On virtually all free and many pay sites, more members – be they scammers or not = more user to user traffic = more clicks = more $$$. Best avoid them.
  • Avoid ALL free sites except 101FreeChristianDating. How can I say that? Because free sites attract scammers, however, here at 101 I make it my No.1 priority to stop and block scammers as soon as I come across them (usually BEFORE they even get onto my site) or I am notified about them via members. I make it my ‘business’ not to think about emptying your pockets first – but put your safety first. To that end – the few scammers that get through my continuous vetting and monitoring process are caught quickly with a combination of constant monitoring of site activity, special code in the site that weeds them out along side much appreciated help from my member’s:)

Summary

The fact is, some sites are more concerned about scammers – or stopping them – than others. If you you are concerned about safety on the Internet dating sites, here are some articles you may be interested in. Whilst the following articles may not indicate that the company in question has bad intentions – it does show you what can happen if you are not careful about who and how you communicate with the members on those sites.
