What’s Next on 101 FreeChristianDating?

Hi all, for the last few months I have been updating all the ‘text’ and ‘content’ areas of the site with new templated CMS systems (like where you are now) in preparation to give my attention back to actually improving the main singles service, as I was last doing back in 2001! For example I need to add several features and speed up the site to how it was many moons ago before things hit the fan as well as add many long overdue features such as a better search etc – the one I have now as you may have noticed is a little archaic and not changed since 2006!

The problem has been, due to the effect of 15 years of too much unnecessary work (because of an  outdated site platform) and the stress of not being able to improve my site for all that time (for reasons I won’t bore you with – except to say I blame myself for making a couple of bad decisions early on which effectively ended up tying my own hands behind my back) and seeing is almost crash and burn several times has had on me physically, I can no longer handle too many tasks at once as used to be a breeze, without getting severe migraines and other RSI issues. So now I try to focus on one or two updates max along side the daily admin – which although itself is quite daunting, due to my new CMS’s I am certain as (as I am already physically much better and editing the site now takes hours and not weeks) things will get much – much easier from here on. Thank you God!

No more fire-fighting – it’s time to make some real improvements

Whilst 101ChristianSingles has had 100’s and 100’s marriages in 17 years, it has been quite hard for me to see most of it’s potential not realised over that time, and be totally unable to do anything about it (as mentioned before due to a couple of my own bad decisions), but I am confident that now I am free to make it the service I dreamed it would be in all aspects – easier to use, an encouragement to single Christians, building Christian friendships, safety-wise, feature wise and for the site to be more effective at bringing people together:)

The new CMS’s (blog/help section and other content areas of the site) have freed me up time-wise 1000% which means I am no longer having to spend all my time fighting fire, and many issues I should never really have been dealing with in the first place, and actually start to make the long overdue improvements to 101’s Christian matchmaking service. Being a one-man-band with 1 web programmer I pay means I am a little slow but I will get there!

A few things I hope to add this / next year…

  • distance searching between members
  • speed up server in preparation for…
  • opening up the entire database of profiles for members to search
  • more and larger photo albums
  • improve safety and improved vetting for me and members
  • make user interface more friendly / easier to use
  • improve the chat service
  • many other things to numerous to mention!

Well God bless and have a great week:)

Edward
