As part of an overall and long overdue (15 years late if I’m honest) 101 is getting a few updates and overhauls that will help me manage the site generally and get back to what matters, and what I have been unable to get on with for the best part of 15+ years – updating the dating service. It hasn’t been through want or trying, in fact I have commissioned several developers to either install or create from scratch a templated CMS to make my life easier here at 101 but none has been of any use. It has only been in the last year that I have been able to learn myself how to instal and manage CMS software that I have finally got somewhere in this area – thanks to God as the ‘system’ of lack thereof was making me physically ill and frankly depressed and extremely worn out. Manly because editing one page meant editing all several hundred pages – and this like a fool I did for over a decade, as with so many other pressing technical and admin related issues, I was simply unable to make time for resolving the CMS issue.
Thankfully after a ‘big push’ in 2014 – when I got control of my site back, I took the time to get my own servers and my own software and now have a fantastic CMS which I am unbelievably grateful to God for. In some ways – all he pain was worth it as I am no longer at the mercy of developers and have complete understanding and therefore control of my sites. I must thank my friend Johanna for this, who convinced me that I had nothing left to lose and gave me the courage to give my previous developers an ultimatum – well paid I must add to get the job done – to which I got no response – and took this as my queue to go completely alone into the hitherto unknown to me territory of servers, software and computer coding.
