101 Christian Dating Service Website Gets a New Testimonials Page!

Hi there Fusioneers! Just a little update to say I’m so excited, as after 15 years of waiting I finally have a proper content management system (CMS) to add site news and updates on 101 (where you are now) as well as a new testimonials page to add thank you letters, wedding testimonials and photos, engagements, marriages and all kinds of reviews and other encouraging letters from my members. This is great for existing and potential joiners and any Christians thinking about trying my free Christian dating service to read about other members testimonials!

Why this and other small steps is so brilliant for me…

The reason this is so great for me is that I no longer have to spend days and weeks editing 100’s individual pages every time I want to change a single logo or tagline or font size as the whole thing is templated meaning – if you change one part – it updates everywhere else. As well as this milestone I have just finished transferring all the old site’s help pages onto to an equally fantastic CMS for other members to get answers and tips on using the site.

This is why there haven’t been many updates to the main site recently – but believe me I am chomping at the bit and have a whole bunch of things to fix and improve, like adding distance searching and opening up the entire database of members to search (currently only a tiny % are searchable to members as the server needs upgrading in size – one of my next jobs).

Unfortunately as I have never had a CMS until now and so many other technical and admin issues to fix (partly because of the fact that I never had a CMS in the first place making every little change on the website take an inordinate amount of time) I have never had time to add all the hundreds of wedding photos and success stories to my site.

Then on top of that – two windows computers running a local version of Outlook email software (dreadful stuff) where I was storing these testimonials and letters form members (for a time such as now when I do have a CMS) blew up one after the other and I had no backup (this was a little while before cloud computing). The upshot was I lost 100’s marriage testimonials.

The fortunate thing was I did have some saved elsewhere on various other discs and some remained in my newer gmail account (cloud based). I also had quite a few web pages lying about on various sites where I had managed to add a few marriage stories between problems running the site.

Because of this simple CMS software I now managed to add to 101, managing things on 101 will now literally 500% better – no exaggeration – now I have my own properly working CMS and you can see the testimonials pages here. I will add new and old stories as soon as I have spare moments and managed to add quite a few already! I hope you enjoy reading about these success stories as much as I enjoyed helping these couples to meet!
