101 Gets a Secure Certificate!

What’s a secure certificate you might wonder as I did? Well if you look up at the top left of this website you will see this; (!). This little icon indicates that the server that this webpage is on, does not have a secure certificate. Now before you panic this does NOT mean you are at any risk on this site and just means that any information you submit on this blog site (which you will not be entering!) could – and I stress could – be intercepted. Please note; my actual dating site is on its own totally separate server and now has a secure certificate!

Now the thing is, you will not be entering any information on this blog site – or any other parts of the site that do not require logins etc like the help section – names or passwords so for you this means nothing – no security risks at all. It does however mean for me, that this blog will get downgraded on search engines as sites that have the secure certificate are given higher ranking to encourage site owners to make their websites more secure.

A secure website will display the address with an ‘s‘ like; https://www.site.com

Now the great thing is that our free Christian dating site – where you do enter a small amount of sensitive info like name email etc (we don’t accept cards) now has a secure certificate which is great news for anyone that uses the site and the site’s ranking in search engines.  This means that anyone ‘sniffing’ for data packets going across the net when you enter stuff on my site – only get a load encrypted of gobbledygook and cannot see your email, name etc. To see this new security feature on our Christian dating service just look at the padlock icon top left and notice the ‘s’ on https here.
